Welcome!

This is not a typical "retirement planning" group (usually a cover for some financial planner hustling fresh clients). This is a group for people who are concerned about our economy and retirement. More specifically the growing fiscal deficit, trade deficit and National debt and how the government is going to deal with the 78 million baby boomers retiring and the social benefits needed. Our discussion will start with a viewing of the presentation "Inconvenient Economic Truths" that provides an overview of these and other areas. This is not a "gloom-n-doom" message with no solutions, but rather a wake-up call to get us to re-define what retirement is all about. Questions of how to invigorate a sense of purposefulness & passion and how to redefine this last quarter (third?) of our lives will be some of the issues we discuss, along with how to survive the potential econoimic storm coming. Anyone approaching or already in retirement who believe the old models aren't working should join us.
